Sanpo yoshi (三方よし) is a 400-year-old Japanese business philosophy from the Ōmi merchants meaning good for the seller, good for the buyer, good for society. It's the principle every booking we make is measured against.
Artists earn fair, market-informed fees and keep long-term relationships with the people booking them.
Promoters, venues and event organisers see a transparent fee breakdown with no hidden margin.
A thriving live music ecosystem — where artists, promoters, audiences and communities all share in the success.
Sanpo Yoshi was created by Gig Big, an Australian event management company with more than a decade of experience producing festivals, concerts and community events across regional New South Wales.
Throughout that journey, we've worked alongside hundreds of artists, booking agencies, venues, councils, sponsors and promoters. We've experienced the excitement of creating unforgettable live music events—but we've also witnessed many of the frustrations that exist within the current booking landscape.
Too often, the booking process lacks transparency. Promoters are asked to negotiate without knowing an artist's true market value. Artists are sometimes unaware of genuine opportunities. Relationships can become transactional, with success measured solely by securing the highest possible fee rather than achieving the best long-term outcome for everyone involved.
We believe there's a better way.
Sanpo Yoshi was founded on a simple idea: the best live music experiences are created when artists, promoters and booking agencies work as genuine partners.
Our mission is to create a more transparent, collaborative and sustainable marketplace where every booking delivers value for all parties. We believe artist fees should be fair, negotiations should be open and respectful, and booking agencies should continue supporting both artists and promoters long after contracts are signed.
That's why we've developed the Fair Fee Framework—a transparent approach that considers factors such as venue size, audience capacity, event type, regional versus metropolitan locations, touring efficiencies, production requirements and the overall value of each opportunity. Rather than encouraging negotiations based on "What's your offer?", Sanpo Yoshi aims to provide informed, consistent and equitable fee recommendations.
But our role doesn't end once a booking is confirmed.
We actively support the promotion of artists and events, helping build audiences, strengthen partnerships and maximise the success of every performance. We believe that when a show succeeds, everyone succeeds—the artist, the promoter, the audience and the agency.
Sanpo Yoshi isn't about disrupting the live music industry for the sake of disruption.
It's about raising the standard.
It's about creating an industry built on trust, transparency and shared success.
Sanpo yoshi — good for the seller, good for the buyer, good for society.
